Fishing is fun for all ages! We like to go on family fishing trips on party boats that leave from Captree State Park (at the eastern tip of Jones Beach island). |
| Boats go out for half-day trips and full-day trips. The boat we like to go on is the JIB VI (631-587-1194). It's a lot of fun, and the mates are friendly and helpful. Even if you have never fished before, you can easily learn. |

According to the Web site, fluke, striped bass, weakfish and bluefish are the most common types of fish that have been recently caught in our surrounding waters. But you never know what kind of fish you may catch. If you are looking for a fun family day trip or unusual way to celebrate your birthday with friends, we recommend fishing at Captree. |
